Yes, if you are not interested to any new functions added in new software releases you are completely right.
But just check how much new features Garmin added to Fenix 7 series since release and you will know why updates are interesting and almost all of us wants them to appear on their watches.
They don't include tactix or aviator versions in the beta programme and mk3i has software features from both of these.
Garmin had announced one update per quarter. But on the subject of Descent, the security of the software is always in the foreground.
Sure, it looks like Fenix and Epic get more updates more often, but if you look at their forum, they also have more issues. Lots of feedback right now about high battery drain, etc. I'm actually okay with fewer releases for my Mk3i if it means when they do come, they are more likely to work fine!
Every Garmin software version release ever and there is always someone reporting battery drain issues and usually 15s light button reset fixes those. So wouldn't put much weight on those, but still interesting that Garmin haven't managed to fix the upgrade process causing that.
The Q1 Public Software Update version 16.25 has been fully released. If you have not received this, you can install the update manually using Garmin Express.
Thank you for update Garmin-Laurie.
Could you be so kind and give us more details about:
"Added new Moonphase watch face"
How we could use it, and which exact watch face it is??
check the forum, there is a discussion on this topic where you can see which watchface it is
Thank you.
I missed it.
I noticed Garmin support doesn’t respond to our posts and comments. It looks like either they are overwhelmed with the complaints about the bad quality of their software or they just don’t care! I am starting to regret buying my Garmin Descent MK3i. Should have stuck to Suunto and gotten the new Suunto Ocean instead, especially when diving safety is at stake here! Garmin has a bad bad bad service !!!
