Waiting for phone but connected!

Hello,

I got a weird issue (that is no really annoying but just a little)

My phone (android 14) see the Garmin MK2 (last update 22.20) as connected in Garmin Connect (green) and phone notification pop up on the watch, so everything is working well.

But on my watch (even if it received notification) say "waiting for phone" and the small phone icon is blinking as if the watch is not connected.

I tried to reboot both devices but without success.

Do anybody knows about this issue?

Regards

  • I am happy to hear your smart notifications and Bluetooth connectivity are still working properly but it is odd your watch has an understanding issue on its own connection. My sincere apologies a full setup of your watch will potentially need to be done but you might resolve the issue with the first step that will not reset your settings. Also, please be sure to remove your watch from both your Connect Mobile APP and from your phone's Settings > Bluetooth menu then confirm your Connect Mobile APP is fully updated through your Google Play or Apple APP store before Bluetooth pairing your watch again after the reset to defaults.

    Please try the following:

Soft reset your watch by holding down your top left button until it powers off then let go of the button.

    Reset to Defaults:

  • Thanks for the answer

It does not come from the last 22.20 version. As it is not a real issue (everything is working fine) I do not see it before but I suspect it came when I changed my phone 2 months ago...

I removed the watch from my old phone (including in the bluetooth parameters) and connect my new phone form Garmin Connect... and it seems to work fine (notification and so on)

If I understand the process, I would lost everything as it resets the watch (so I need to reinstall application form IQ on the watch?). So I retain the process BUT I do not think I will do it by know as the watch seems fully operational (except some small features like find my found)

    Regards

  • (so I need to reinstall application form IQ on the watch?)

Yes. If you do decide in the end to perform the full reset back to defaults, you will need to reinstall Connect IQ, Bluetooth pair again, re-add sensors and adjust your watch settings. Given the issue might be tied to when you changed phone, the full reset has a high chance of resolving the odd behavior.
