Any way to get Navionics+ maps on my Garmin Descent Mk2i?

I use my Garmin Descent Mk2i for free diving and spearfishing and it would be a huge deal to be able to have the Navionics+ Sonarcharts (0,5 m bathymetry charts) on my wrist.

I currently have these charts on both my phone and boat Sonar, but once I'm in the water I'm left to guessing.

Being able to navigate to underwater structures and see depths would make the Mk2(i) such a powerfull tool.

Since both Navionics and the Descent are Garmin products it would make a lot of sense to add the Descent to the list of compatible devices for various marine maps.

Please....

(I'm located in Denmark in Northern Europe, so I'm not sure if there are some similar options available in other areas?)

I don't know about Navionics but you can buy the regular Garmin marine charts and download them to any watch that supports maps.

No, i asked this question to navionics a year ago but they said it wasnt compatible and just said theyd look into it.

Those maps are perfect for the watch, you dont need marine topo maps on a watch imo.

Ahh Ok thanks.

I use the watch for Spearfishing (free diving).
We go by boat and are dropped in the water without any good reference points. Sometime the water will not be clear enough to make out the bottom structures why it would be a great help being able to see check if I’m on the structure/drop-off/wreck before descending. Also being able to navigate back to a certain spot after being moved by current.

I agree with all of this. I'm also a spearo and find myself in the same circumstances.

Do you know how well the charts and depth contours display on the watch?

Theyre ok, resolution is determining factor which on a watch is not great, i use it as a general guide, no comparison to a dedicated plotter let alone a tablet or decent phone

You can get openstreet maps and download to watch theyre fine for land, but opensource sea maps are not good esp for coastal navigation, the only option for that is bluecharts which are expensive, unfortunately navionics doesnt which is a shame because they also include ais on app which would be useful for boating, though i would not rely on watch for navigation at sea anyway

the G3 maps will do the depths i believe.. but wont have all the markers and everything from Navionics. i think i might have a way!

So you can actually have nautical charts in Descent MK2 with depth contours as well? For example, if you buy this BlueChart g3 | HXEU055R which is charts for Finland lakes and rivers, you would have all those features mentioned here: Finland Lakes and Rivers | Garmin ?
Meaning; Depth Range Shading, Detailed Contours, Shallow Water Shading etc?

I thought depth contours were only available for MK3 ?
