MK2/i Protection

Hi MK2 users,

I am Chris and i am from Austria.

My Hobby is tecnical diving (also cave and always 2 or more stage bottles).

I bought a Garmin MK2i and i love it.

The probem is the damage and scratches on the case and screen during stage handling and cave diving.

So i invented a full enclosure case with 1mm polycarbonate screen guard to slip on the Garmin.

So there is 100% protection and it is still pretty small and not bulky.

There are 2 Versions:

One with bungee mount(5mm) and one to use with any original strap.

Id like to know what you guys think about it and what can be done better.

I have bought it after reading this post. I would said it is pretty well made and fit nicely.

However, mine came with a cross bungee instead. I prefer your 2 bungees version.

My protection came with only one ring too, but I bought new rings and work very well.

I used the scuba o-rings.

I'm not a cave diver but I've done a fair amount of stage handling and haven't noticed any scratches. Dive computer is worn on the right wrist and most stage handling is done with the left hand. For stage handling the right hand is only used to manipulate bolt snaps on the left chest D-ring, and to hold the leash when doing rotations with 3+ stages, so the watch should never come into contact with a stage.

Servus, yes they are printed in a professional FDM 3D Printer, made out of UV resistant TPU (Polyurethan) , so nearly undestroyable!

i have heard some not too good review of this.. what do you guys think?

i saw some tpu type case cover for the fenix 5 etc...but i have not come across one for descent mk1 or mk2.

anyone seen some?
