Software update [Standard Chinese 2.30] cannot be installed

I have Descent Mk2i APAC version.

The Garmin Express version 7.8.0.0 running on macOS 11.5.2 has told me that the firmware update of Standard Chinese 2.30 was available since a couple weeks ago. I clicked install on the app and Express showed no more update afterwards. Then I disconnect Mk2i, manual shut down and rebooted it. The same software update was shown again once I connected to the Mac.

I have repeated this connect-install-disconnect-shut-down-reboot cycles a dozen times over this 2 weeks.

How to install the update successfully?

  • I have a similar issue (using a Mac as well), but with a different update. For mine it says Ocean Version 1.1.1. It goes away when I connect / sync my watch to the Mac, but appears again as soon as I disconnect it.

  • I have the same problem too. Both Ocean Version 1.1.1 and Standard Chinese 2.30 cannot be installed.

    However, there are a bunch more updates appeared today. I went ahead and installed the Firmware 8.50 only. I followed the steps, unplugged, chose update on Descent, let it restart itself. All of these updates disappeared except another System 8.50 update was shown on Garmin Express. I have installed it as well. Garmin Express had shown "You are up to date!" until I relaunch it. Standard Chinese Update 2.30 appeared again. Sweat
