As a daily multisport watch?

Just bought the Mk2i after getting hooked to open water diving. I have the Fenix 6 which I used for my runs, bike rides and strength training and was wondering whether I should keep it or sell it since the Mk2 supports most, if not all, the Fenix 6 capabilities.

Is the Mk2i durable enough to endure constant daily use together with its diving capabilities or should I have both and just use the Mk2 purely for diving?

  • I used to have the F6, I sold it, kept the MK2.

They're the same from the multisport perspective with close to none caveats. One of them is you can't get daily activity suggestion. at least for know.

One significant improvement is battery life, it lasts for so long, you will forget to charge it.

  • Thanks. That's good to hear. How about in terms of durability? Can it take the same beating as the Fenix 6?

Yeah I noticed the battery increase after doing a half marathon and the battery being just 15 percent drained.

  • I've been using it daily for triathlon training. Seems to be fine.

  • I think MK2 is sturdier, the wrist lugs are solid.

If the extra weight isn't a problem with you, go for it.

I use mine for trail/asphalt running, lift weights, scuba. even I fell and went downhill making turns, besides a few arm scratches and my pride, the watch is like new.

    Happy trail

  • Please note that MK2 and other dive watches are many months behind with firmware updates and are lacking some of newer features and fixes available on Fenix 6 platform.

  • If you have the APAC version of the MK2i and you don't need the extra money that much, hold off on selling your F6. I made that mistake (sold my F6 Pro Solar right away) and somehow regret it. My MK2i doesn't even have the sleep widget and does not have Indoor Climbing and Bouldering modes (something I use a lot, too). The non-APAC version seems to have caught up with the F6 firmware though, based on the change logs. I might be a bit repetitive about this on other threads but I just don't want other people to have the same mistake as it's a bigger investment than a F6. I like the watch overall, it's just that coming from the F6 Pro it felt like a downgrade for my surface / everyday activities.

  • I used the titanium strap as it works great, the silicone one is firmly relegated to diving (and even then I am not sure it will be used all the time). It might lack some updates but for everyday sports it's simply fantastic.

I thought the weight would be an issue but honestly I dont even notice it anymore.
