Two Mk2i displaying same transmitter data?

One Mk2i standout feature is the ability to display the data from several T1 transmitters, for example an instructor seeing a student's air pressure. But I presume that the student's Mk2i can also simultaneously still show his own T1 transmitter data. In other words a T1 can pair to more than one Mk2i. Is that correct?

  • I don't know the answer to this but I'd be very surprised if you could not have a single T1 pairing with more than one Mk2i.  It would be dumb and pointless to be able to monitor someone else's tank pressure(s) but not have them be able to monitor it themselves.

It would also be a step backwards from the widely used PPS transmitters which simply broadcast and can be received by any dive computer.

  • Yes indeed, that's what I also think. It's probably so obvious that it didn't need putting in the specs. I just wanted to find some confirmation. My old Suunto D9 transmitter works fine but never had the distance capability underwater for multiple displays. Anyway, I bought a Mk2i and will give it a try some day myself if I meet someone with another Mk2i.

  • You should be able to read. By Garmin's own videos a fiber can have access to his/her buddies air and of course each buddie must have access to their own air. A group of divers are probably able to check others air. I believe it's a great feature for instructors (if the setup is easy. The students not necessarily will have a Mk2i but the instructor can even see if the air informed is accurate), and persons who dive regularly together.

Unlikely but do hope to see a slightly better price for the holidays... Will wait a bit to buy but definitely on my wish list!
