G1 or Mk2 while waiting for Mk3?

The Descent Mk series have been on a 3 year cycle for a new release based on history, so that means the Mk3's are due end of 2023.
I have thought the same as you, which to buy or even buy anything at all yet.
I had a 14 year old Oceanic Atom 2.0 with wireless air integration, still worked but wanted something more user friendly and up to date, have sold it.
Since the G1 or Mk2 are just a stop gap until the Mk3 comes out, I thought it better off to save a lot of money and got the G1 Solar when it was discounted, its literally half the price of a Mk2 in Australia.
No AI or Maps but it works well for all the fitness stuff and as a dive computer and I have a separate Cressi Digi 2 for Air usage.
Although I do also have the Forerunner 965 (again the much cheaper version of an Epix 2 with essentially the same feature set) with the lovely AMOLED screen as my daily watch.
If I purchase an Mk3 when released I would sell both the G1 and 965.

Thanks for your reply... Yes, we are in the same boat .  But I won't sell my Forerunner ;-)
