Stuck in dive mode

Took my G1 skydiving and now its locked in dive mode.

I tried the official procedure:

1. shut off holding LIGHT

2. turn on holding LIGHT

3. hold MENU until surface pressure reset message appears

However, the message never comes up. No matter how long or short i keep pressing the button. It just boots right into the dive mode.

Is this a faulty instruction or was the reset feature removed in a software update?

Watch is unusable now

What can I do?

I am sorry your watch is having the issue. Please try one step that might resolve it since the Stuck in Dive Mode behavior is repeatedly happening with your watch when you use your Pool Swim profile.

WORKED! Plugged the charging cable into my PC's USB port and clipped it to the watch. Said "Dive will end in -- minutes" didn't catch the number.

It's fine now.

Hi Chris, I have a similar "stuck" issue

My G1 gets into Dive mode, even when I started a Pool Swim activity before getting into the water, and even with Pool Mode enabled.

At that point, I'm stuck in dive mode and unable to continue with my current activity (3-meter pool swim), this is a Descent G1 with latest software version 11.21

- Plug your watch into a computer USB port. It can be a PC or a Mac computer.

You will not need to leave your watch plugged in for more than 2-3 minutes. After you unplug it, test it again on your next Pool Swim. If the issue continues, please reach out to Product Support in your region to exchange your watch.

Same problem. Went skydiving. When I turn the computer back on, and hold MENU it says "watch rebooted evaluate dive condition."

Same issue. I fly a skydive plane and I think the descent rate messes with the watch somehow. To fix this, as others have said, just plug your watch into a computer and it should resolve it.

I have the same issue. If i use the Pool Swim activity and then dive down which activates Dive mode... the watch gets stuck in Dive mode. And also does not give accurate dive readings. Like the pressure sensor is stuck. So, ive stopped diving down if im swimming. Love how the watch changed my behaviour. Haha. Hopefully Garmin resolves the bug.
