My Garmin Descent G1 pulse oximiter lights are still flashing even when in low power mode.

I set heart rate to off, pulse ox to off in battery saver mode, but while in battery saver mode, the green lights on the back of the watch still flash. I am just trying to extend battery life in power saver mode. How do I disable these flashing lights in standby mode? Id still like the heart rate to turn on when doing an activity, but otherwise stay off.

  • As a side note, battery life is dropping much faster than I would expect, it drops 4-5 days of estimated battery life every day.

  • Any chance your rear LED OHR lights only flash quickly about every 15 seconds? (We have had a small handful of reports on another series for every 15-seconds even when the OHR sensor is disabled as you have mentioned in your description.)

If you are not experiencing the 15-second flash, treat the issue as a watch specific issue which will require resetting your watch. If the behavior still continues, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region.

    - Soft Reset: hold down your top left button until your watch shuts off then let go when it powers off.

    - Reset to Defaults: Reset your watch through the System > Reset menu. It will require your watch be fully setup again as if Day-1 out of the box.
