Garmin Descent G1 repair

Hi,

I purchased the Garmin Decent G1 last year and the strap recently broke. I was looking for new straps online and came across a few on the FixPart website.

I don't have experience with this website so I was wondering if someone may have experience with this website and their customer service that would be open to sharing. I really want a new strap and the price on the website is quite cheap compared to the original Garmin strap. I really hope someone can help with this.

I can't speak specifically for the straps you mention, but I dived with the G1 and a third-party QuickFit Strap (which had good reviews) - which detached itself twice whilst diving. First time, I noticed it loose on my wrist (thankfully, part of the strap was still trapped under my wetsuit sleeve), the other time the watch fell off my wrist, but luckily another diver noticed and we were on the bottom so recovery wasn't a problem.

I've still not managed to work out how the QuickFit mechanism released itself, but two near losses was enough for me - I'm sticking with Garmin straps.
