unable to update garmin d2 mach 1 to 18.14. Stucked in 17.28

Exactly the same experience and feeling here!

To my profound relief, I heard from product support and recieved this:

"If you have tried that and it still does not work, Please try plugging the watch into a PC and locating it as a drive. Then open the garmin folder. You should see several sub folders. Open the RemoteSW folder and delete the files. Also check in the main garmin folder for any GUPDATE or .GCD files and delete them. Then re-sync with express."

AND IT WORKED.   Updated to 18.16 Like a Champ.

I had the same problem and tried updating on the watch using WiFi and by using Garmin Express but continuously failed to update from 17.28 to 18.14.

I have some Talky Toaster maps installed so storage was quite full.

I have NOT freed up any space. I have NOT deleted any files from the watch.  However, I have just now tried to update again now that 18.16 has been released by just using WiFi directly on the watch.  Completely flawless update to 18.16 complete.
