Why is the D2 Mach 2 excluded from so many app compatibility lists?

It's the exact same watch as the Fenix 8 - it's even the same OS, it's just a different software package.

Garmin D2 Air The watch turns off when I try to make a payment using Garmin Pay.

Summary, description of the problem:

When I try to pay using Garmin Pay, the watch completely shuts down the moment it touches certain payment terminals. I have to manually power it back on. However, this only happens with some terminals — others work perfectly, and the payment is processed successfully.

Important observations:

NFC clearly works, because Garmin Pay completes successfully with some terminals. The behavior is repeatable: specific terminals always cause shutdown; others never do.

The watch resumes normal operation after rebooting — no signs of hardware damage.

There is no sign of progressive degradation — the watch behaves consistently depending on the terminal used.

This suggests that the issue is not hardware-related, but more likely due to:

a firmware bug in how the D2 Air handles certain types of EMV/NFC responses, or a compatibility issue with specific POS terminal models.

When are we getting a new D2 anytime soon?

It's been several years without a hardware refresh (last was what, 2022?). Garmin, what are we doing here? I thought for sure they were waiting for AirVenture but nothing.

Tactix Bravo Navigation

Just purchased a used Tactix Bravo. Came here and looked for a separate category covering just Tactix Bravo, Charlie and Delta?

It is hard to know where to ask for my particular watch.

Now, I want to know if the watch can display maps with streets and navigate like a car navigator? How do I do? Thanks in advance ;-)

My Garmin D2 Bravo gps watch is not switching on even when after it’s fully charged. When it’s connected to charger it showing 100% charged. But once I disconnected, the display turns in to blank.

Just got my launch r 50 monitor today. Every club is around 40 yards short. I know my distances extremely well. I've always used other launch monitors inside where I hit and never had an issue. Help

No Airport or METAR data loading

I'm on a D2 Mach 1 and face an issue with no Airport or METAR data being loaded/displayed.
Issue occurred for me from mid-January 2025.

Tried reset, reinstall, updating, clearing cache, etc. Nothing works.

Based in South Africa, and no airport or METAR data is pulled from local nearby airports.

Tried setting an EU airport and that worked... for a few minutes and then data goes blank again. Tried the same with a major US airport, and same thing again - it worked initially but a few minutes later data goes blank again

Not seeing a lot of reports on this so was wondering if it is a thing with my watch only...

Any tips, hints, ideas, etc. on how to get this to work??
Sort of the thing with the D2 series is to get this type of info...

D2 Mach 1 Pro glances not showing nearest airport

Recently got the D2 Mach 1 Pro and love it so far.

One strange thing, the watch face glance right now is showing me METAR from an airport 20 miles away but not the airport I am standing at right now.

When I go to select airport -> nearest -> nearest airports, it correctly shows the airport I'm at along with the distance.

But for some reason, the glances are showing the airport 24 miles away.

Note that the airport 24 miles away is not my favorite or anything like that. No idea how it picked the other airport

GameOn Feature not working Garmin D2 Mach 1 Pro 19.34

Hello, the GameOn feature in SW 19.34 is not working. Just got it working once. Only in the settings of the Garmin Watch I can estblish the Pc Connection. If i push the back butten and want to start the activity the PC gets disconnected again. Please fix that issue. As I saw for the Fenix Watch this bug has been reported for years now! Thank you

Assuming the Epix line of watches is being phased out by the Fenix line (being that the new Fenix 8 now captures most of the unique features of the Epix) could the next version of the D2 Mach 1 potentially be based on the Fenix 8? Thoughts?

Marq Aviator Gen1 Incorrect data in FLY program

Hello!

Incorrect display of the planned route. For example, I create a new route from KJFK to KIAD (Navigation -> Flight Planning -> Saved Plans->Create New and add via Search by Ident). The new flight plan always displays the length - 0.0 nm. When I select Set Active and fly - the watch does not want to follow the route. On the waypoint page, there is no point name, no DTK, no distance... Similarly, if me select Direct To and enter a point, the watch does not fly to the point.But on a map and HSI - all correct. I did a factory reset and a master reset - nothing changed.

I'm not sure, but I think it happened after updating the software to version 27.00.
I also noticed that the Data and ExtData folders are missing from my Garmin folder. I read on the forum that they are supposed to be. When you try to create folders manually, the watch does not allow you to do it. Creates any folder with any name, but not these. Maybe it is somehow related?

Who has the Marq Aviator Gen 1 watch? Is everything working correctly for you? And do you have Data and extData folders in the Garmin folder?

Trying to control inReach Messenger Plus from D2 Mach 1

When trying to control Messenger Plus from D2 Mach 1 the app on the watch tries to read messages from inReach and fails - just freezes trying to read them. Sending a message is possible only after they are read, hence neither sending nor receiving from the watches is not possible.
Both devices are pairs and the watch recognises the Messenger.
Does anyone have a solution?

Garmin Aviation Database Manager will not update D2 Air

Latest GADM on Win 11 Pro latest, D2 Air will not be detected by it during the update. Tried several different USB ports.

I can update over WIFI but no longer using GADM. It's been this for at least a month, maybe more. What's interesting is the flyGarmin agent on OSX will update it. I think this is just a bug on Windows.
