Why does the D2 Air X10 barely have any sport apps

The D2 Air x10 barely has any sports apps. As far as I can tell, it has the full sensor suite but cannot run basic apps like kayaking or any team sports app.

It's really pretty disappointing for a 600-dollar watch.

I would love for it to have more apps like backcountry skiing and Ultimate Disc.

  • All of Garmin's wearables belong to various groups/departments within company. And while the D2 series of watches belong to the Aviation group, the watches are all based on existing hardware from out groups. In the case of the D2 Air series (D2 Air & D2 Air X10), they based on the Venu watch hardware/firmware, and are more of a "general fitness" watch. As such, you only get a smaller, more simple list of activities versus the Fenix watch series which, as an outdoor/adventure watch, has a considerably larger list of supported activities.

As a workaround, you can pick an existing activity on your D2 Air X10 that is close, track your activity and then change the name/type on Garmin Connect once the activity is uploaded.
