WiFi sync "Transfer complete (x files failed)"...

Hi all,

Something that may help others having this annoying issue which commonly occurs on my D2 Delta.

Symptom :

When initiating a WiFi sync, the watch displays a red band with "Transfer complete (x files failed)". Additionally I have noted when this happens, my VO2 Max status keeps going down even though I do activites.

Possible solution :

- Go to Garmin Connect, click on the "Watch" icon and select "Device Settings" for your device - in my case D2 Delta.

- Click the "Device Settings" tab and find the "Physio TrueUp" option under "Device Sync" .

- If it is on, turn it off and click "Save Settings" at the bottom of the page. If it is already off, skip the next step.

- Initiate a WiFi sync from your watch. First time you may get a red band with the same error message. Do another sync. This time you should get a green band and "Transfer complete".

- Go back to Garmin Connect and turn "Physio TrueUp" on.

- Initiate a WiFi sync from your watch. This will take quite a while whilst the unit syncs all activites with Garmin Connect.

- If all is well, you should get the green band with "Transfer complete". I recommend you turn the watch off and back on and test with anohter WiFi sync.

The above works for me every time I get a red band error. This scenario seems to always occur when I do a reset of the watch. However following the above steps seems to resolve the issue.

As an aside to getting a clean transfer, my VO2 Max went from 36 to 40 in one step after my last activity. Ok so I might not be super fit but geez all those power walks with the VO2 Max always going down was, well a downer. The above steps seems to have fixed the metrics.

A.

  • It worked! Venu 2s here, same error. After turning off Physio TrueUp next WiFi sync ended with error (1 file failed) and another WiFi sync immediately after was successful!

  • Worked for Fēnix 7X - Sapphire Solar.

More or less the same routine, however slightly different path for Germin Connect App: Connect > Watch logo > System > Perf. Condition. I've disabled this option, wifi sync finally enabled again - issue disappeared.

  • If your Garmin D2 Delta shows transfer errors and VO2 Max drops, try this: Turn off "Physio TrueUp" in Garmin Connect, sync your watch twice, then turn "Physio TrueUp" back on and sync again. Restart the watch and sync one more time. This usually fixes the errors and VO2 Max issues.
