Anyone who has a D2 Air find the batter going flat overnight "all of a sudden"?

As per the title, no third party anything, no change that I can recall making... Just all of a sudden it has started going flat overnight

  • I have the exact same issue that started about a week ago.  I have been getting 5 - 7 days of battery life and for the last week I get 1 or 2 days and it has been dying overnight.  I also haven't added/changed anything as far as software/configuration

  • I think there were some issues with inconsistent battery life with the base platform, Venu, which likely permeated to the D2 Air. There was a new FW release for the Venu yesterday so we should expect that a D2 Air update will follow soon; typically we see releases, if they are coming, show up a few weeks after a release for the base platform.

  • G’day..... good to know.... my work around has been to disconnect it from the paired phone overnight

  • Same issue here. On march I sent it to Garmin and they couldn't fixed, so they give me a new one. 2 month later same problem, I tried to open a case through email (pandemic) and they dindn't opened. Yesterday I went to the store and I leaved the watch and the status is change it again.

Nobody could explain what is the root of the problem. They just change te watch.

  • Hi all,

I have had this issue with my partners 5s Plus and my D2 Delta at one time or another with multiple iterations of production firmware. In both cases I note that the units are happier if I force a manual WiFi connection and wait until the unit states that the transfer had completed if it has not been used for a couple of days.

The WiFi handling seems pretty bad on these units and I suspect things haven't changed with newer watches. The issue for me appears to be the WiFi connection starts automatically overnight but seems to time out, going into an active deadlock situation until the battery is depleted. As my partner doesn't use her watch often, it happens to her 5s Plus regularly. I use my D2 Delta everyday for activities and the unit auto syncs every day hence it is rare that this happens to me....

Something else to keep in mind perhaps?

    A.

  • I am experiencing this problem now.  I have been getting an average 7 days of battery life on my D2 Air, and then two days ago the battery started depleting overnight.  I have charged it first thing in the morning only to find it fully depleted the next morning.  Has anyone found a definitive answer and solution to this problem?

  • Exactly the same thing happened to me. The first time they changed my watch for a new one, after a couple of months it happened to me again, so they wanted to change the watch again for a new one and I rejected it, I demanded that it be exchanged for another model since my deduction was that D2 Air has a Software / Battery problem. I now have a Fenix 6 Pro

  • I have exactly the same problem. Set up a profile that shuts everything off at night, yet drains from 90% to zero in 6 hours of sleep

    1. My D2 Mach 1 was going dead overnight, from the time I got it about 2 weeks ago. I experimented with most of the things said here and a lot of different settings. The thing that made the most difference for me was turning off battery saver mode in sleep mode. It seems battery saver mode is actually a battery killer
  • Turn off Bluetooth when not in range of your mobile device. That was solution for me.
