Hi, I'm a new user exploring how to get the best from the D2 Delta and Garmin Pilot. It seems I want to be paired with my phone for every day use and my iPad for flying. However, when paired with the phone I couldn't add the iPad and had to unpair and start again with the iPad, which took a while. I've just tried the same the other way around and the phone will not pair using the Connect app or manually using the iPhone bluetooth settings. If impossible, or if it requires 20 mins of set up, my Apple Watch will have to remain my day to day device and the Garmin will be confined to my flight bag only for use in the cockpit with my iPad and Garmin Pilot. Has anybody else found a way to use the device with an iPhone day to day and very easily switch to the iPad for flying?
Sod's Law - after three days of trying, on and off, I may have solved my own question. For the interest of others:-
I cleared all bluetooth keys and closed all the apps - then power cycled the D2. I then did a full set up on the phone suing the connect app. Then I turned off blutooth, power cycled the watch, turned the iPad bluetooth on and did another set up with the iPad. Now, if I close the apps and disable bluetooth on one, I seem to be able to swap to the other device.
I did try various similar combinations before and could not get the other device to connect (when it had a key) or pair fresh but the secret seemed to be the restarting fo the D2 and turning off bluetooth on the phone to ensure it wasn't trying to pair or use Connext when trying to add the iPad as a new device. It also seems to like having the app closed and bluetooth turned off before switching device but I don't seem to need to power cycle now the pairing keys are established.
