New Marq 2 just came out!

No. Your best bet would be to buy from a retailer who would be willing to buy your original MARQ off you for resale. I've seen a couple of second-hand MARQs being sold by jewellers alongside new ones (in the UK), so this must be an option. I'd guess you'd do better selling it privately though.

I know there's a Porsche Epix on the way - my guess is that that will effectively replace the MARQ Driver.

I am still torn if I want a new MARQ. My Gen 1 works great and I am pretty bummed that the new updates (Jet Lag, Training Readiness, etc) won't be pushed to these (according to releases). I was hoping that this watch would continue to get software updates and services far into the future, even if hardware updates became available for newer generations.

Without a trade in plan, I won't upgrade.

The life time of those watches turn out to be 3 years. After that no more major software updates. If I understand correctly the cost to replace a battery is also very high.

I wonder what the folks at Garmin are smoking these days. 

Gen1 Aviator RRP is $3100 in Australia. Gen2 Aviator is $4100.

Look, I get it, cost of pretty much everything has gone up but $1000 difference is pretty steep.
