Marq Series - 12.77 Public Beta

Hello Marq customers,

Please ensure that you are downloading the correct beta software for your specific device. The beta below is not compatible with MARQ Aviator.

12.77 Change Log Notes (changes since 12.20):

Added support for sport specific power zones. One can now setup their power zones for XC Ski separately from that of Cycling. (Menu > User Profile > Power Zones)
Added support for displaying metrics from an indoor rowing machine that supports the ANT FE-C profile (e.g. Concept 2 with the PM5 module). This includes new fields for the Indoor Rowing app: Distance, Pace, Power, and Stroke Distance.
Added support for an updated software update flow for ANT sensors, where the user will be prompted once they have completed the activity.
Added support for descriptive Varia error messages.
Fixed an issue with Sail Race tack assist. (MARQ Captain only.)
Fixed an issue where the device could crash when connected to a HRM Pro with an active Livetrack session and accessing Ski activity profiles.
Fixed an issue where certain CIQ elements could not be uninstalled via Express.
Fixed an issue where the device may fail to load a considerably long activity through the history menu.
Fixed an issue with setting up elevation alerts at higher elevations.
Fixed an issue in the paring flow where the device could return to the "Pair with Phone?" page instead of moving forward.
Fixed an issue where customers with high resting heart rate would intermittently not accrue intensity minutes.
Fixed an issue where the device was not recording position data when racing against a downloaded course.
Improved the reliability of ephemeris downloads.
Improved the presentation of information for alarms and timers.
Improved the scaling of lines when zooming in/out on the map.
Made several code improvements for Sleep.
Made several code improvements for Indoor Climb.
Made several code improvements for daily suggested workouts.
Made several improvements for Livetrack.
Resolved an issue impacting updates to features like VO2 max and Training Status.

Current beta peripheral software version numbers below. New versions are indicated in red.

Sensor Hub: 8.00
ANT/BLE/BT (Pro models): 6.11
ANT/BLE (non-Pro models): 2.11
Wi-Fi (Pro models only): 2.60

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

I was wondering why Fenix models have GPS v. 5.0 while MARQ retains 4.60 for 12.77 beta release? Would love to get tighter tracks as some people showed in comments post-5.0 update.

(Tested ANT FE-C profile with PM5 Concept2 rower.... It's awesome! Thank you so much! Super-fast pairing and even faster connection. I think this implementation is better than COROS' )

Yay! I've been waiting for proper Concept2 support for years, haven't had chance to test it yet though.

Does anyone know is everything gets transferred over to Strava properly from the Garmin Connect update, or am I still going to get a better version of the activity on Strava if I upload to there direct from the Concept2 logbook/app?

As I have F6 and MARQ, I’ve left most of my observations on the Fenix 6 forum in this thread https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-6-series/244070/indoor-row-connecting-to-concept2-fe-c-as-trainer/1169630#1169630 and also posts strewn across the equivalent Fenix 6 12.77 beta thread to this.

With regards Strava, mostly the only advantage is that the auto upload from the Concept 2 logbook comes with the fancy generated PM5 summary screen; but otherwise the data is the same whether from Garmin or Concept 2 (OK time is different as the PM5 measures exact start to stop of rowing, but the watch starts and stops when you press the start button. As an example: activity from Concept 2 https://www.strava.com/activities/4368927113 and same activity from Garmin https://www.strava.com/activities/4368944749.

Everything transfers well... Distance, pace, stroke rate, power.

Looks like I did find a bug in this beta ... correcting sleep data in GCM will not be transfered to the watch - what did work before.

Hi everyone,

I apologize that this item was not included in our original change log. Beta version 12.77 does contain a fix for the issue where VO2 Max and Training Status were not updating. I have added this note to the change log above, and on the software download links. You should no longer see this issue after installing the 12.77 beta. We are aiming to release a public update in a few days which will also include these fixes.
