Marq - already outdated ?

Hi.. quick question:

I really like the optics of a Marq Captain or Athlete and thinking about a purchase.
I am a bit worried though I am buying a technically already outdated watch (as FENIX 6 has
a better display etc.).
What´s your view and : are you guys expecting an updated Version (Marq 2) in the near future ?

I think I understand what you are asking here. The MARQ is great for smart work and formal wear and means if I go away on a work trip (less frequent in the COVID-19 dominated world though) I only need one watch to cover everything (work, social, dinners and sport). The larger screen, slightly lighter weight (yes the 6X Pro Solar is lighter than the MARQ) and extra battery life, make the 6X a better choice for longer duration outdoor activities; particularly if using the maps. Both are great, but if you could only have one watch to do everything, then it’s got to be the MARQ.

I agree. I think Garmin is missing out here. How can the high-end MARQ be based on the Fenix 5 Plus, instead of on the Fenix 6???

The only reason I haven't purchased a MARQ is because I am waiting for a Fenix 6-based version (not sure if that is coming at all).

Battery life is better on Fenix 6 vs MARQ (5 plus)
Display resolution is better on Fenix 6 vs MARQ (5 plus)
Display size is larger on Fenix 6 vs MARQ (5 plus)

What do you think?

You’ve clearly missed everything I’ve posted in this thread. The MARQ is Fenix 6 based; or rather, as the Fenix 6 came after the MARQ, the Fenix 6 is MARQ based, would be more accurate. The MARQ is definitely NOT based on the Fenix 5+.

I'm troubled.
Comparing side by side technical specs, i.e : Screen size, resolution and battery lasting are strictly identical to 5 plus.

Battery life and display specs seem to match the Fenix 5 Plus.

The fact that MARQ and Fenix 6 and Fenix 5 Plus all use the same processor doesn't mean that MARQ is based on Fenix 6
