iPhone 11 iOS 13.1 can not pair with marq expedition

Hi, after countless attempts to pair my marq with a new iPhone 11max... I am stumped. I can get half way, but it always fails on the completing the last set up step. I have done everything that is suggested in the support web pages. Also I have the the same issue with my Edge 1030.
all devices have the latest firmware and I am using the latest update of the connect app. All the Settings adjustments are used. Any ideas if there is an issue with 11.3 or iPhone 11max pairing with the marq?

  • Given that it’s impacting your Edge 1030 too, I’d say it’s far more likely there is something up on the phone/iOS side. I assume you’ve tried all of the usual stuff:

    • completely remove the Garmin devices from your phone Bluetooth settings and the GCM app
    • swipe closed the GCM app on the phone
    • power down and reboot all Garmin devices and the iPhone
    • re-pair the Garmin devices using the GCM app (not in your iPhone settings)
    • if pairing fails first time, just give it a go a few more times

I also just noticed that production iOS 13.1.1 has just been released, so maybe that’s worth s try too.

  • Thanks. I tried all the different things that are recommended on the Garmin support website. I’ll look for that iOS update. Am i the only one with this problem? I did see a report on the Edge 1030 forum. I guess if you bought the marq you would be trying to save money by not getting a new iPhone.

  • I’m on an iPhone XR, so it could be an issue with the iPhone 11+ specifically, but I’m sure we’d see loads of complaints on the Fenix 6 and Forerunner 945 forums too if that were the case (945 is essentially the same intervals as the MARQ).

I forgot to add to the list, but I assume you are on the latest version of the GCM app too.
