New features to be ported to MARQ (from Fenix 6)

Well, somebody had to do it...

What features do you think will be ported to the MARQ line from the new Fenix 6 that got launched today? (link to DC Rainmaker review: clicky here)

Whilst there is an argument that all features should be ported to the top-of-the-line model (the MARQ series that is), personally I'd like to see the following:

* Widget glances and map themes. Second priority would be watch faces (which traditionally Garmin never did) and maybe more data fields (although I never had an issue with the 4 limit). Widget glances and map themes are certainly a must I think, as the MARQ supports all the same maps as the 6 PRO line

* Power manager and power modes features. With the constant threads on battery life i think these are a must too

PacePro would certainly be a must-have feature for the athlete, maybe less so for the other models

What do you think, and wish for?

BTW, solar would have been a nice addition to the MARQ line... now a watch that costs half as much as a MARQ driver and just slightly more than half of an aviator/captain/expedition (yes it hurt to write that) has a killer hardware feature that came out within 6 months of the flagship product... kind of annoying really! That would REALLY have been an argument for the expedition or captain models (or any of them really)

Ray answered this in the comments section of his review by saying that everything - except solar charging of course - will be ported to the MARQ Athlete specifically.

I'm sure most of the features will come to MARQ series. Remember Garmin Chronos. It was released with a Fenix 3 like software and updated to Fenix 5 kinda with Fenix 5 features.

As MARQ series are probably same in hardware with F6 series they'll get the most features.

I was willing for the solar charge feature wondering how it'll survive between continuously charging and discharging the battery. But after the release I'm not very keen as it puts a heavy load on my purse but not a very important battery life to my watch. However, on Fenix 7 or 8 I'll definitely go with that route as it'll be mature technology by that time and will probably be in cheaper watches too.

Maybe rumoured MARQ Commander model may have it.

Tomorrow...or the day after. I would suspect they’re being tested now somewhere.

But whose Fall? We're just into Spring LOL! But seriously, I suspect/hope the next software release may/will come bearing goodness.
