garmin instinct solar distance incorrect

i have a strange problem with my instinct solar

just done a known route that is about 8 miles and watch as only logged 4 miles , it seems everything is running at half

distance

avrage speed

max speed

i can correct in strava but its rather annoying

tried so far

factory reset , was ok for a bit but prob has now returned

all gps settings

3d speed and /or distance

ive also deleted epo file and re synced

You have to unlock the activity (see the padlock icon on the GC web page of that activity). It is set to Private, hence we cannot view it. However, if the recorded GPS track is incorrect, then you probably experienced similar GPS outage like many other users reporting it in the last days. So far I have no problems with my Instinct 2, though. See the pinned thread https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-web/299516/inaccurate-gps-data for more details. You will probably have to wait for a fix from Garmin.

The track is all right, and when exported as Course, and reversed, it shows the right distance (over 11km). Did you use a speed sensor on the bike? If so, then it needs some calibration (or perhaps a new battery). If not, then there seem to be a problem in the speed calculation from the GPS data. Try soft-resetting the watch, and doing another ride. If it does not help, contact the Support and send them the same links to demonstrate the issue.

BTW, you can edit the activity and set the distance to the correct value. Not the solution, just a workaround to have the stats in GC all right.
