Instinct skin burn

I have a Garmin instinct 1st generation and am experiencing a moderate/severe skin burn underneath the watch. It started with a small spot that appeared to be dry skin but it is now a deep red and burns when touched as if it is a burn. Wondering if anyone else has had similar issues.

It happened with me when I had spO2 on for ONE night. If you had that on, I would suggest turning it off. Red light can lead to photosensitisation for some, green light from heart rate measurement not…

We are sorry to hear about the issue you are reporting. The skin irritation may be a result of build-up on the watch band and/or casing. You should discontinue wearing your watch until your skin has healed…

I did not have this with the Instinct, but I had this with the Vivosmart 4. My solution was to disable the heart rate monitor.
