The difference between using System > Reset and the Master Reset in the support article, the master reset clears 100% everything. The System > Reset within the watch menu, leaves behind some information that is only useful to our engineers when we research why a watch was returned to further improve software and the overall product line and future generations of the watch.
Should I do the master reset then or should I pull info / files off first?
hoofbeats95 Thank you for asking. Given your location, I am going to send you a Private Message to work with you directly.
The same situation. I bought Instinct in December 2019 and so far worked perfectly. Week ago began a problem with the battery. The battery loses 10% in 45 minutes. The watch is still under warranty but unfortunately I can not find a warranty card :-(
I am sorry you are experiencing fast battery drain too.
You will not always be asked for a proof of purchase receipt when you contact Product Support to warranty replace your watch. If when you contact Product Support in your region the exchange cannot be done without a proof of warranty, you can try reaching out to the retail store or online vendor where you bought your watch from.
If bought online, the purchase histories are often indefinite or go back many years for most online retailers. If you bought in person at a retail store, if you used a bank debit or credit card, when you give them the same bank card to research, they can sometimes find your original purchase and print you the receipt again.
Hi! I am facing the same issue since a couple of weeks.. I have purchased my Instinct in August of 2019.. worked flawlessly until a couple of weeks or so.. battery has been draining within a day! 23.5 hours to be exact (I turned on stopwatch and checked). I contacted Garmin support and they asked me to Reset + Software update using Garmin Express etc.. NOTHING WORKS.. now i am sure i have not done anything to the watch as we are in Lockdown, here in INDIA.. been indoors for more almost a month.. :(
