Hi! I am facing the same issue since a couple of weeks.. I have purchased my Instinct in August of 2019.. worked flawlessly until a couple of weeks or so.. battery has been draining within a day! 23.5…
Bad news - nobody knows how to do it.
I would try a full factory reset first of all...
If your battery starts to fast drain, there are 3 things you can try:
- Power your watch off then back on again
- Soft Reset: Hold down your top left CTRL button until your watch shuts off, then let go

My husbands Instinct started losing battery quickly as well. He got it in Dec 2019 and it's been fabulous until recently. Did something change with an update?
Not that we have seen. I have both my Instinct Solar and 1 of my base Instinct watches on the latest version 14.10 update and I have not had any issue with fast drain.
Please review this article, How to Improve my Garmin Instinct Battery Life
It mentions a factory default reset on the bottom that can be done. After resetting it, fully charge and test again. If the issue continues, please contact our Outdoor Product Support team at the bottom of the support article. We will be happy to assist further.
I did the factory reset with no results. I've read there is a master reset. Is that worth trying? something changed here. This watch is dying super fast and before he could go about 2 weeks between charges I think.

I presume the master reset is different than going through the menu and just doing a reset that way correct?

There are a few instances in which the Garmin Instinct may need to be reset. These include the the following:
Performing a reset will erase some user data.1
NOTE: Resetting a watch will disconnect it from the Connect app but not Bluetooth settings, see How do I Remove a Device from the Garmin Connect App? for steps on how to remove it.
The reset is successful if the watch finishes powering up and goes through initial setup. Try the steps again if initial setup does not appear. Following the reset, place the watch outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite data.
If the master reset does not work, another method to reset the watch can be tried. Select the heading below for steps on the secondary reset.
Secondary Master ResetThe watch should now be reset.
1 User data consists of activity history, waypoints, courses, routes and tracks
2 If the watch will not power off, press and hold Light until the screen goes blank. This causes the watch to power off and should only be used when a normal power down is not possible.
I did click on it. But going through the menu options also restored default settings. So I'm unsure what the "difference" actually is. What I do know is the battery life is awful very suddenly and it's frustrating.
