I’ve just purchased my instinct. After completely charging the battery. It showed 5 bars and now the battery symbol displays no bars. Any thoughts.

What will this accomplish or override.
I am sorry, brief question, brief answer. I have no idea what problem you have...

Well, you wrote:

You did not tell how long it took to discharge, and what you were doing with the watch in that time, but when the battery symbol is empty, it means the battery is empty, so you need to charge it.
If it continues discharging faster than it should, consider having it replaced. Also, some Instinct users (though not all) report battery problems after the update to firmware v6.60, so you may want to contact Gamin support - perhaps they have some advise for such cases.
I sorry I should have been more clearer. That was my fault. The watch is only 24 hours out of the box put in on charge until it fully charged. Unplugged charging cable battery indicator showed full charge( 5 bars ). Not even 5 minutes later the battery symbol was empty nobbars showing. But no low battery warning.
As 6619804 wrote, try charging it fully (typically takes around an hour or so, perhaps maximally a few hours if really completely discharged), and if the problem with quick discharge repeats, contact the support or have it replaced at the retailer.
See the thread How do you know when the Instinct is done charging.
If you are sure that the battery is really charged and it shows empty in a few minutes, something is really wrong, either battery itself or its measuring...
