Hello. I just wanted to share that we are currently looking in to this. Thank you all for providing additional information.
It is the same with me

Not sure. Activity settings for individual sports may be located in //GARMIN/Sports
See this: https://support.garmin.com/ms-MY/?faq=hWholZ8uPZ6PboXu5Nf7d6
"Backup Personal Settings Instructions for Outdoor Watches".
Activity settings ( \GARMIN\Sports) and other you have to copy to \GARMIN\NewFiles when you need to restore them (also \GARMIN\Schedule is possible to backup/restore next to what the web article mentions). Only \GARMIN\Courses and \GARMIN\Activity you can restore like usual directory.
But some settings are default even after this restore. ABC set is default ("Widgets" set), Hotkeys settings, Pressure format, Position format, Alt. Time zones, Proximity Alert,...

It's the elevation preview when following a course/route. It is meant to show you a graph showing ascent remaining, yet it say 0 ascent remaining and is just a flat graph until you walk the route and then it works the same as the elevation map.
Towards the end of the route it started having a go at estimation ascent left, but hugely incorrect. Note, the watch is still showing the unwalked part of the route elevation as flat until you uncover it.
I guess it's related to the DEM elevation calibration added recently?
As the Garmin Instinct doesn't support maps like some of the Fenix range, does the DEM information only come from uploading courses to the watch?
When I go to navigate>Courses>choose my course>elevation plot it says no course elevation data.
It does this for course uploaded to the device before and after the update.
If I go to activities and load an old activity up from before the update it takes a while, then going to elevation plot, it takes even longer, and then it's a blank graph with distance but no elevation data.
If I go to the route I navigated today, the elevation plot takes a long time to load, but finally displays an elevation plot, even though it was blank whilst navigating the route, until I walked it and it tracked as I went along. Unwalked parts remaining where blank, as was the ascent remaining. Just a flat graph until I walked it.
Yesterday I test (version 6.60) with small walk activity and after finishing it there is proper elevation plot.

So you don't have your own watches and testers? That would explain a lot.

They certainly have, but since this issue does not affect every Instinct owner (for example my elevation charts are still fine), they need to collect data from those who experience the problems.
