Hello. I just wanted to share that we are currently looking in to this. Thank you all for providing additional information.
It is the same with me
Please send me a Private Message if you would like to be added as an impact on the main report for this v6.60 software issue. We may need to reach out to you directly to collect additional information…
It's good to know, but it is not serious that after the update, which in principle should improve the watch's performance, I have to set everything up again...
I can see that Garmin can't make solid equipment because I also have garmin 45s and I have other problems with it.
Upgrade from 6.10 to 6.60 via Garmin Connect (I use only official update).
The boring thing, as explained in the instruction, is that the downgrade brings the watch back to factory default settings. So all user settings (mobile phone connection, preferences, data pages, etc) were lost.
You can save the settings before downgrading, and restore them afterwards. See the folder //GARMIN/Settings/.
For me it is exactly 35s (6.60).
Actually, it is exactly 10*ceil(T/10) + 30 seconds, it means the current time rounded to the next full 10s + 30s, so it can be between 30 to 39s. It is a feature that can save up to several hours of battery life on a single charge - I wrote the details about it in this thread: https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/instinct/194523/firmware-instinct-tactical
For me (6.60), it is approximately 15 s. Do not ask me why it should be different from watch to watch given that the timeout should be deterministically calculated, but apparently here we are. :)

Yes, you are right. There is in fact another parameter in the algorithm - the level of the battery charge. The above formula giving 30-39s is for a fully charged battery. With lower battery levels, the delay is indeed 15s, which makes sense.
Where you get your information, I don't know. But I'm glad you do. :)

Just to clarify: you have to setup the watch again only if you downgrade it. If you update the firmware with a newer version, you haven't to setup it again.

Instinct is my first Garmin device and despite the various software-related issues I'm quite happy with it. For me, the really annoying thing is the bad quality feelings of some buttons (see this post: forums.garmin.com/.../soft-feeling-no-click-button-possible-fix ). My GPS button is getting worse day by day and I fear that soon it will stop working (my Instinct is only 4 months old and I wear it only on weekends).

Wow, that's a very useful information, thank you. It will restore also activity data pages custom layouts?
