I have problem with elevation which describe in this thread.
I did write to [email protected]om {Danny is mentioned that in his comment https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/instinct/170598/elevation-smoothed/933417#933417 } and ask them to check my thread at forum.
I was thinking that I will pass my all my communication here but I will do that only with one answer from garmin. So here it is:
Due to the nature of internet forums, people will express their personal views which they are entitled to do and we have no control over this. Our preference would be for them to contact us first so that we can offer support.
You will likely therefore, find other users that have experienced similar issues to yourself, and the same can be found for any electrical device and potential issue, but these do only make up a very small minority of users, and very few of these turn out to be genuine faults. As such, whilst regrettably faults can occur, as they can on any electrical device, there are no known faults with these, which can cause this.
Sometimes the sensor ports can get plugged with debris, please try cleaning it. If that fails to resolve your issue you may try wearing on your other wrist. For more tips please view the following FAQ: [support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=qyfmQF7Au284m7pXMi5ie9]
If this does not help then please try cleaning the sensor port on the device.
To clean port:
Debris blocking the sensor port will need to be rinsed free. The sensor port is located on the right side of the watch, between the Start/Stop and the Back/Lap.
-
-
Run low pressure, warm water over the sensor port
-
Gently remove any visible debris IMPORTANT: Do not put any objects into the sensor port!
-
-
Shake away excess water and allow to air dry
-
Calibrate the altimeter

So I did make document with all my results and send them as official document describing my problems with elevation profile. Also I did ask if they can forward that doc to engineers and that I am expecting better answer then "please, clean sensor or did you calibrate altimeter..."
answer to that is :
I'm afraid it looks like we will need to book your Garmin device in for a replacement.
