Yes, now yes. Previous descriptions were a bit ambiguous, and I found it difficult to believe the SMS response would work for phone calls, while not for text messages, so needed to have it confirmed.

BTW, what auto-response choices are shown for the Facebook messaging? The same ones that you defined for the text repsonses, or the ones you selected for the call responses?

I would recommend, entering for example the keyword "message" in the search box of Andorid settings. Depending on the version and clone of your Android, there will be more or less hits (in my case around 20 hits). I would go through them all, and verify them. There may be an option blocking the messaging. Checking out lockscreen and Bluetooth options may be worth of it too. And of course, I suppose you already verified all the permissions of the GC app.

I busted my phone and ended up with a newer version of the same phone. Samsung J3 Luna Pro to J3 Orbit. The newer phone has a newer version of Android. The texts responses work on my newer phone.

I had the same issue and the reason was that I had different language on the app and on the watch. Make sure that the language is the same and try again.

Had the same problem, I just rebooted my phone (Xiaomi 9t pro), and the watch; now it works normally. It's maybe important to know that the problem occurred when I edited pre-made responses from the garmin app.
