Crashes when pressing start/stop button and re boots

Refer to the main thread for swim crashes. It seems to happen only in very specific, but unrelated scenarios, such as: the watch has just connected to the phone, or backlight is enabled only after sunset…
see: Pool crashes - Instinct Solar - Wearables - Garmin Forums after setting up a power mode for pool swim activity with disabled phone connection no restarts, so definitely depends on phone connection

Garmin are currently trying to collect more details to understand when exactly it happens, so that they can find a way of fixing it.
It’s happening mostly when pressing pause button, watch vibrates for 2 seconds then restarts. Saves data sometimes
Lost all faith in the watch and will be sending back ASAP

I have a garmin instinct solar tactical and it’s a piece of garbage. I swim 2-3 times per week pool and open water and the watch crashes 1-2 times a week. I’ve tried formatting and resetting to factory settings, custom settings so there’s only one screen with laps / timer and distance but it still crashes when I stop the workout. It’s basically useless too try to maintain any kind of consistency with recording data. Junk watch. I highly recommend anyone but a different watch if they want to use it for swimming.. unless garmin has a fix - which they haven’t for about a year or so. Still enjoy the swim just don’t rely on the watch
