I have also run into problems with water bottles in the hip pack. With an M1 in the pack between the water bottles, ANT+ connectivity to a watch on my wrist is considerably worse than the same situation…

I assume you have the Edge paired as iR remote control device. This kind of thing can occur when the devices are on the margin of effective ANT+ range. If the problem still occurs with the devices near one another, open a support ticket.
In my experience, the more frequent symptom is repeated "searching for inReach" messages. However, my experience is with a watch, not an Edge.
Thank you for the reply.
I've read about the weak ANT+ signal and have moved the inReach from behind me in my hip pack to a side pocket so my body will no longer be between the inReach and the 530.
I have also run into problems with water bottles in the hip pack. With an M1 in the pack between the water bottles, ANT+ connectivity to a watch on my wrist is considerably worse than the same situation with no water bottles. Touchy for sure.
Putting the inReach in a side pocket maintained the ANT+ connection, but it kept losing the satellite signal.
I guess I'll live with the lack of the inReach Remote function - the satellite signal is more important.
Unfortunately, both the M1 and M2 are notorious for poor GPS reception. They are slow to acquire and frequently lose lock. The only solution I have found is to give the Mini a clear sky view. For a cyclist, the top of a fanny pack is sometimes the best you can do. The Mini does have a regular spine mount. I don't know if the there is handlebar mount or not.
At the end of my ride, the inReach showed only two tracking points, at the beginning and end. After syncing, the Explore website, and the Earthmate app showed it had missed tracking only two points, out of a maximum of 10, at 10 minute intervals. I think the side pocket is going to be fine. Thank you.
I've turned off ANT+ on the inReach Mini - too many "found" messages even with the inReach on my belt, less than 18 inches from the Edge with no obstruction between the devices.
I'm not going to bother with a support ticket, as the inReach stays paired with my phone and I'm not doing without my Garmin devices by sending them in.
I may go back to 9.10 on the Edge, but probably not.
