How to get a logged track data from an Inreach mini to show up on the garmin explore website when Send interval is set to zero?

How to get a logged track data from an Inreach mini to show up on the garmin explore website when Send interval is set to zero? I have Syncronised the Mini by cable to PC and from Earthmate on Android, but no tracking data appears on my Map iin the explore.garmin.com/map page (Im logged in). I have serached for this very basic question, but found no answer. Thanks for any hints.

  • Thank you. I have updated and checked everything, but still no data in Explore.I have also synced after ending one tracking.  Even the data sent trough satelite is not availble.

  • Update 11th of May: Strill no solution. I have updated and checked everything, but still no data in Explore.I have also synced after ending one tracking.  Even the data sent trough satelite is not availble.

The support from Garmin on my ticket is to answer with the same instructions over and over again.

  • The fact that the "sent points" do not show up indicates that the problem is with the device, not with they sync operation. Sent points travel via the Iridium satellite network in more or less real time. Nothing to do with sync.

Even with a fully functional Mini, it is possible that the unit NEVER acquired a fix during the entire tracking session. And it's certainly possible that the device has a hardware problem.

First thing to check would be whether or not the unit EVER acquires a fix. Take it outside to a location with a clear sky view. From the Home screen, down-arrow to the Location screen. You should briefly see a "Wait for GPS" message. That will be replaced by coordinate information once the unit acquires.

If the unit does not acquire a fix within 5 minutes or so: I don't believe the Mini uses an EPO file. The unit needs an up-to-date almanac to determine satellites in view when attempting to acquire a fix. If you have moved the unit more 300 miles or so while off, or if it has been quite a while since you used the unit, it's possible that the almanac is out of date. In that case, the unit will do a full sky search while trying to acquire. Bottom line: if it takes more than a few minutes to acquire, "soak" the unit for about 20 minutes with a clear sky view. This will get an updated almanac. Do not hold the unit in your hand or move it while soaking.

If the unit STILL has not acquired, then there is almost certainly a hardware problem with the GPS receiver.

  • Hello if you wouldn't mind responding to the private message and providing me with some details requested that may be helpful so I can look further in to the issue you are having. Thanks!

  • Thank you, this is useful advice. Will do. The device was on top of my backpack, so I assumed that it had a fix. Edit: and the last hike I tried tracking was for more than 6 hours with the mini turned on. Send=2 hrs, track interval = 5min. After hike I synced by Earthmate on phone.

  • Thank you, please see message. Sorry for late respons.

  • Hi,

I tried yesterday and today to "soak" the Mini for at least 20 min. It found a GPS position. Today around 17:30 to 19:30 Korean time I tried the tracking with Send = 10 min and interval=2 min. Still no data in Explorer nor in the Mapshare.
