Energy safe mode during running a set gpx course

Hello All,

I REALLY hope someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong or how I can prevent this from happening.

So I like to run routes that were uploaded as a gpx file by others. I use Wikiloc a lot and I can send the gpx file straight to my watch.

But when i run a gpx course, i start it by going to run/trailrun, select courses, select the course i want to run that day and press start.

So far, so good. But after half an hour the watch says: switching to energy mode (or something like that) in 30 seconds. If I press a button within

that timeframe, it's ok and the map shows again.

So my question is twofold:

1. can i turn off the energy saving mode during a course?

2. if not and I miss the 30 second warning, it goes back to the watch face and I have NO idea how to get back to the original map.

As for the second question: when i go back to trailrun i see on the top part of my screen that I'm still on route, so the course is still active. I just don't know how to get back to the map.

If i press trailrun, all i get is quit activity or if i go on to course i can start that same course again but then i lost all progress up till that point.

I have googles my ass off, and it's probably me, but I just can't seem to find the answer to this problem. I really hope someone can help me (and my mate, because he's experiencing the same issue).

regards, and thnx in advance.

  • Hell Razmichael,

Thnx for your elaborate answer. It finally got to me, thanks to you, that sometimes i indeed pressed the start button while at other times i stopped my actions when i saw the map on the screen. This time I made sure to actually press start once the map showed, (even though i really thought i always did) and had no problem navigating a route.

So a happy trailer here, thanks to all of you. ( and feeling immensely dumb at the same time :P )

    regards,

    Sander
