Training load and VO2max for alternative sports

Hi all,
it seems that in my Connect app only cycling (Edge530) and running (Fenix 5 X) activities are considered in the training load and VO2max calculations.
As I do a lot of skimo training during winter with also very intense activities, I would like to have those considered in the calculations as well.
Am I using a wrong app on the Fenix? The Garmin Skimo app always saves the activities as mountaineering, not SkiMo.
