Can't transfer saved locations to replacement watch.

Did you save the contents of D:\GARMIN\LOCATION\ from your old watch?

Also, something to look at here: LCTNS.FIT for custom locations, internal backup and restore of files?

I didn't save the Garmin folder no.... I just used the feature... "recieve from Device" in Basecamp.... and I'm trying to use the feature "send to device" on my new watch.

The issue going to be adding the locations to the LCTNS.FIT file in a format that your Garmin will accept.

Probably too late now, but the process for backup up and restoring is this: Backup Personal Settings Instructions for Outdoor Watches

Now I assume all you have to work with is basecamp and the waypoints created when you did the "receive from device."  Getting those back onto the LCTNS.FIT file is going to be problematic. I couldn't see any way to reverse the process and restore to the watch. There might be some third party tools out there, but I couldn't find any that would be useful. 

You're sure Garmin Support cannot assist? If they had access to your old device and could pull off the LCTNS.FIT file, that would be ideal. Good luck.

Thanks for your input.... Usually its a quick process of doing something in "my garmin" or something... product support UK are all working from home at the moment... and keep saying they don't know how.. Or it's impossible.... but they've done it 9 times before for me....they just don't understand.. and have no one to ask in an office environment.

Their own support site describes the process, as I've posted earlier. If they can't get their hands on your old device, then yes, I believe it would be impossible.

It's not impossible it's very easy when you know how lol... they've done it many times in the past.... I thank you for your help.

You should be able to save your locations in Basecamp to transfer to another watch... Its how I've always done it. The problem is the jinks files are tied to another watch.... If I had no satalite imagery tied to the file.... then the saved locations would be easily transferred to another watch..... the problem is the jinks files.... Garmin has a way of getting around the issue.... I may have to wait until the office opens again for better guidance.
