I have a Fenix 3hr, but had the same issue--6%/day drop with no GPS, then it started dropping 30-50%/day. I cleaned the back of the watch with alcohol and toothbrush, and now it is back to normal.
On fenix 5 plus I'm getting 38% drain per 24 hours in smartwatch mode with everything off and nothing connected, or installed. With one or two small workouts I'm having to charge every day or two. The…

There are more of us with the same problem... Unfortunately, without being able to undoubtedly identify the cause and waiting for Garmin to fix it again :o(
It is dropping 30% per day, without any GPS use.
Many people here are experiencing higher depletion rates that we experienced earlier but I would consider 30% per day extreme. I think my early usage was 7% per day without exercise. I installed the latest beta 11.74 on Friday and charged to 100%. As at now, just about 3 days and 20 hours later and with two 32 minute 5Ks using GPS and GLONASS, I am now at 43.3%. I used 56.7%, an average of .616% per hour or 14.8% per day. I hope my math is correct.
I use a Fenix 5 Sapphire, I am constantly connected to my phone with notifications but I keep my Connect Mobile app closed most of the time unless I am checking on my runs immediately after completion. Most of my review is done on the Garmin Connect online. My checks show that a Mobile sync is a big battery drain but I will get notifications without a sync.
0,6% per hour is PRETTY BAD, I'm afraid. NOT NORMAL. Normal is ~0,2% per hour, as it was what I had before and what I have if I switch off the HR sensor, something that I would prefer not to do (I've switched from a fénix 3 also because of the HR sensor).
Same issue here! I charged battery full 3d and 4h ago but now there is only 20% left. During that time I have done indoor cyckling 2,5h (no GPS) and 40min running (with GPS). About month earlier I needed to charge the battery every 8-10 days... please Garmin: fax this!
Same here. GCM is stuck sending a software update. I've made a manual sync and for now it's solved.

I had the same problem. About 35% a day and no improvement with version 14.20. Got a replacement device from Garmin and now I'm back at 6% a day :-)
That explains a lot....
Hello all, this is what I did to improve battery life on my Fenix 5x
- I installed a watch face that is called NoFrills
-Removed hearth rate monitor from display bacause it drain battery like crazy, the watch face looks quite simple now.
-I leave my brightness from 20 til 40 %
-Also delete all unnecessary apps or widgets.
-I take care that my bluetooth on watch is OFF during usage, sometimes i forgot to turn it off after pairing with my phone. :)
I managed to get 12 DAYS straight usage without charging. And the watch is updeated to newest version. Also im transfering data once a day.
Sorry, but that is not the solution. To use it that way I don't need it. There are better watches out there for less money to last the same time like f5 now.
This might be an emergency workaround untill the proper fix - to achieve the specification claimed, that is.
Sorry...
