14.20 and Battery - looks promising.

So far 14.20 has been positive for me with the battery. Doing spot checks shows it back to .3 percent per hour and staying consistent.

  • Yes you must. Is in the last line of the instructions.

  • I must admit, that version 14.20 behaves strangely. After udpate it looked good and I could report consumption of 7-8% per day first 5 days which is ok. Then I charged the watch again and now it is 14% per day all of a sudden without any activity. Not sure if I should do soft reset after each charging or what is the right action to keep consumtion of 7% per day without gps activity.

I don't even think it is a drain, I think it's an error in reporting, mine seems completely random, sometimes better battery life during a GPS activity!

Always runs for over 14 days though, sometimes stops on, example 74% for half a day then the following day it drops a load than slows again.

End result is very good battery life, better than 13.51 for me.

1340 and 1410 both doubled my reported battery usage.

  • This is exactly what I am experiencing. What is even stranger is that sometime the drain goes away randomly e,g, my watch has only drained 3% for last 12hrs including GPS activity. It’s like a reporting error like one of the post mentioned.

  • The same situation. Ok before charging, drain battery after charging and soft reser needed to restore.

I charged mine last night, after 6.5 hours it was 95% and its been at 95% all day.

  • Okay it can be an error in 1420 reporting the battery use wrong. But why the phone turn off when reach 0 and you cannot turn it on?  This is the behavior in mine some nights is only 2% drain, other is 6%. The watch is set it up to be on do not disturb mode so, no notifications. Today after I reverted to 13.30 using the current Hub firmware after 100% charge 46 hrs ago, no activity or GPS use the watch is 77% which means 0.5% /hr I am using  the Crystal watch face

  • Hello,

I observe that for some of you this version has improved the battery drain, but for me it has increased comparing to the v.14.10, version that was the best improvement for my device (Fenix 5).

I have created a history for the charging of my watch. I have used the watch
    - without any activity,
    - without smart notifications(they are not useful for me :) ),
    - Bluetooth OFF (enabled just when sync)
    - second hand ON
    - WHR ON

What happened on the latest version?

    When using v14.10 the battery drain was ~0.2x %/h, now, with v14.20 is ~0.3x-0.4.x %/h !?!?
