Turn by turn alerts no longer working

Until a few weeks ago, I was getting turn by turn vibration alerts on my F5X while navigating along a course. The alert no vibrates. How do I get it back?

My normal way of generating the course is from a GPX file that is created in BaseCamp, saved to Google Drive, loaded into iOS Connect then transfer to my F5X. I typically hike on a pre-planned route along trails, roads or RofWays.

I called Garmin who suggested restoring the options to default on the navigation app. This solved the problem for me..

it seems to work in my local test, but getting out on the trail this weekend showed that the problem still existed. The turn notices sometimes were there but mostly not. The distance remaining came and went. The off trail warning seems to hit often just form the natural locations drift under deep tree cover.

This is a steep downgrade form the watch I had a few weeks ago.

Found this answer from "HarryOnline" - and it works.

In the activity settings (e.g. Run Settings), there is an option Routing - Courses. Selecting 'Follow Course' is the default option, but you can change it to 'Use Map', then you will get turn by turn navigation. If the course is from a track, you will see a lot of blue dots for all the waypoints, which is disturbing. If the course is from a route, it will have fewer waypoints, but there is a risk that the route will be changed if it was generated using a different map.
