due to problem with EPO, in my case I delete everyday, do you have a widget or app to delete EPO.BIN of our F5X?

  • Ok, so while “unofficial” I may have a possible reasoning for this bug, a bug that may have to deal with the “map” itself.

So, this was tested on the Descent Mk1 (based off of the 5x). Back about 2 months ago, we had a massive map update for our “Cycle Maps”. I like to use different types of maps, so I removed maps and put other official Garmin maps on (size of update was extreme and I wanted more room). When I tested this “zero” bug, it existed with the other Garmin maps. So...on a hunch, I reinstalled the Cycle maps and went back in to test and viola, it works! A little annoying because it auto zooms out at first but either way, it works. Before, it would just “0” out after the route was determined.

This isn’t a solution, but a possible way for Garmin to narrow down the problem.

  • so after reinstalling the cycle map it works? i give that a try. i did a complete factory reset with no luck.

  • thx Ok hand i did a full factory reset, did not change any setting on the watch, just paired with the phone. and reinstalled now every single map over garmin express. now i'll have to wait go get outside the office to test. i'll tell you the result.

  • Did not work. Same 0 distance. Face palm♂️

  • So you totally reinstalled the Cycle Maps?

  • yes i connected the watch via express, and updated every single map. worked great, until i powerd off my watch.

  • For my fenix 5x it works too - as I said 5 days before.

I updates all maps and then deleted them, because I don't use the original garmin maps. After this navigation is working again

  • I still have a backup of the entire watch's flash from the day I bought it a couple years ago, original maps, firmware and everything. I've also tried every map update that Garmin has released. Full factory reset including FAT32 format of the internal storage.

Its not the maps. It's the main firmware. 11.x works. Anything newer doesn't. With either the original maps or the newest ones, doesn't matter.
