Hard reset. Frozen during activity

Hi.
Has anyone else had the F5 freeze on them whilst racing an old activity?
I was out cycling and decided to ‘race’ against the same route I had ridden a few days previous.
Towards the end of the ride, the unit froze.
I held down the light button to switch the unit off, switched it back on, but just had the triangle logo appear. It would not go past this screen.
I had to perform a hard reset which as you know is extremely frustrating because you’re essentially back to square one with the unit.
I’ve had serval F5 replaced due to barometer issues, but none have frozen on me before. Hoping it’s not a sign of things to come or a faulty unit

    I had two times similar problem with the firmware 8.0 fenix 5s using the feature "race an activity". First time I've lost 10km of the run, the second time 1,5 km. Both times the only solution was to hard reset the watch, nothing worked - only tringle on my screen. I don't know how it was in the past, but I've started using this feature from firmware 8.0. I need to mension that feature was one of the reasons I bought fenix 5s :(. I haven't got any Connect IQ apps/data fields/watch faces - only clear firmware. Garmin suggested me to check beta software, but I haven't found any sentence that they improved this functionality - so for me it is too big risk lost all data/setup once again.
