Temperature (internal sensor) 1 degree too low: Calibration possible?

The temperature of the internal sensor shows 1 degree too low (compared to calibrated thermometer). Is it possible to calibrate the internal sensor?
Support says: no! And the value would lie within the tolerances.
But 1 degree difference is too much!
  • I'm intrigued by this thread. At what depth are you measuring the water, and how close to shore? In a lake there are SIGNIFICANT differences between surface temp and an arms length down. There are also huge differences between near the shore and water 10m+ deep.
Before you swim, try this checklist:
Is the water solid? if yes, don't swim.
Stick your hand in, is it immediately painful? If yes, don't swim.
Stick your hand in for 30 seconds. Does it feel chilly? Wear wetsuit.
If no to all of the above, swim in a swimsuit. If it's too hot, swim slower and enjoy the sunshine.

The idea that you'd do something differently based on a 1 degree difference is bizaare, as is the suggestion that you have somehow compared this to a calibrated device. What calibrated device have you taken swimming with you on your wrist which logs a graph over time for accurate comparison? Windchill alone would account for 1 degree of cooling while swimming, let alone the cooler water at depth on your downstroke.

Humbly suggest to close the thread. It's run its course, so to speak.
