Fenix 5 rebooting when connected to Garmin Connect App

Hi,

Wondering if anyone one can help.

Since the 7.10 update my Fenix 5 constantly resets itself while connected to the Garmin Connect App on my phone. It doesn’t have to be tracking - I did a restore to default settings in case it was corrupted files and it would cycle through a reboot while I was trying to re-input setup data. If I have the App closed the unit works perfectly.

I’m using an iPhone 8 with the most up to date release of Garmin Connect. I’ve also checked my iOS and it is the most current version.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

  • Has Anyone on this thread had their problem solved? I've had a replacement Fenix 5S sent to me and exactly the same problem has been happening with the new watch. I've updated to version 8 of the software with no fix. I've then been supplied with beta version 8.54 still crashes. no response from [email protected] which is where I sent all the crash logs etc.
Having ongoing problems getting onto support staff...
    Anyone got a fix yet?

Try having the watch on and connected to GC several hours before using it. Solved it for me. I constantly leave it on now. let me know if it solves the issue!
  • Nope I've tried every different combination got it to work for 24 hours went out for a run come back and it was in a crash cycle.. It's recording the crash detail in the err_log.txt but seem to be going around in cycles with support posted the watch to them at my cost again and they couldn't replicate even though these crash logs are on the device they said they were sending it back to me and I had to film the screen crashing... Surely someone at Garmin can debug or atleast tell me what these error codes are?????
