Add just a new line in CompletedUploadsV3_FIT_TYPE_4.xml and enter between "<string>xxx</string>" the filename of your suspicious file that caused the sync error.
Now the sync process should skip the file at upload...

H0nzaB thank you. only tried it til 7.0... did you tried already to remove all activitys (backup them) from your watch and after then proceed wih ste 2-4 (without any activitys on your watch)?

I follow what you say by doing the above first. I open up notepad, put in that <string>xxx</string> (replace my xxx with the mess up .FIT file that I know) into that TYPE_4.xml file and it didnt work when I sync. Even reboot my watch and my computer.
Then I try the other other method which is #2 remove the device from the PC express, #3 delete devices folder, reboot the PC and watch and #4 add it back again on the PC Garmin Express and that didnt work either.
I even try uninstall Garmin Express from my PC, remove any files, give a good rub of ccleaner to get rid of registry. Reboot my PC and install Garmin Express again and try ... And it still will not sync.
Dont know what else I can do. I keep getting that sync error on GE on the PC.

It still would not sync and got the error. I follow exactly above, including that one corrupt file .FIT file that I delete that I know bc it didnt show up on my web dashboard.
In frustration, I delete all the .FIT files from the watch and follow the above steps and now it SYNC with no error. I try a test run and it work n sync again with no error.
Now my watch sync faster! I delete about 43.2MB of data! I think I am going to do this and not leave so much .FIT files on my watch, for what? That tiny screen just to see the HISTORY? No!

Chimcen yes, even I've tried factory reset on watch, but without success. Moreover in other discussion person from Garmin wrote that they know about this issue and they are working on it.
