Is it just me or has the latest software upgrade for the Fenix 5 broken the golf shot tracking feature? I played a few holes on 31st August when my watch still had v5.30.0.0 and shot detection worked fine. Then last Tuesday 26th September I played 9 holes but not a single shot was detected. I noticed after the round that my watch had upgraded to v6.0.0.0. I played 6 holes again today, Friday 29th September, and once more not a single shot was detected. Help!! This is one of the primary features I use.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused you all, we have a fix for Auto-Shot currently in development and it will be available in the next beta software version. If you keep an eye on the Fenix 5/5s forum, you will see a post when this beta is released.
I reported this to the support on 26/09.... I am really upset since this is one of the main reasons why I switched to Fenix5 Another bug in Golf since the previous version is the fact that the course isn't loading anymore on the fenix while changing courses, I need to delete it from the phone and then download it again on the phone before it would eventuallly load on to the watch... Testing procedures should be reviewed at Garmin...

Hi Mel and thank you for this information. Nice to hear that fix Under constraction. I hope you can also fix the course loading problems and GPS hangs on golf activity.
I have same issues with regular fenix 5. Uploading golf course from phone to fenix does not always seem to work. Very annoying is also that yesterday we started a round from tee10 and my garmin didn?t understand that at all. I removed software from my iphone and rebooted it and also rebooted fenix 5. Did not help. I bought my fenix 5 last week just before my trip to spain and now I can count only steps....and I have two days left of my holiday :-(
However there is no word about fixing the Shot Detection in golf. Did anyone have a chance to try this new version already? Really curious if it works now..!!
I installed the beta release this morning but shot tracking and course load issue are not solved in this release... this version has introduced a new important issue, the watch is always losing connection with the phone. so I can tell you when I tried to start my round of golf it took me 10 minutes to ge the damn thing started!
