I have experienced the same problem with the Time in Heart Rate Zones once during a run a few days ago. It looks like no zone is defined and my entire run was in zone 5.
During my next run two days later the problem didn't occur.

My watch is on firmware 5.40, so it seems not very likely that the FW update has caused it.
Maybe it is a coincedence and not relevant for the problem, but I did notice that the problem occured during a workout where a new Lactate Threshold was detected and didn't occur in the next workout without new Lactate Treshold. Possibly this caused the zones as %LTHR to trip up. Although I have not seen this problem before.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. There wasn't any LT detected (was an easy run) and I did a few intervals afterwards with the same issue.

  • Experienced the same thing tonight. Entire run in zone 6 even though I know I wasn't there. Have you guys found any resolution to this?
  • It looked to be introduced by a Garmin Connect bug that pushed nonsensical sports zones (Running, Cycling and Swimming) to your watch - regardless of firmware version.
Delete them and based on my experience the issue won't come back again.
  • I've recently TRIED to use the alarm function on the watch (to wake me up at 5:30 AM) but I have noticed that all the alarms set on the watch (v5.84) disappear after a sync via Garmin Express on Mac.
Email has been sent to Garmin but just to warn all fellow users...

    How do you delete them?
  • Menu -> Settings -> User Profile -> Heart Rate -> Sport Heart Rate -> (i.e.) Running -> Remove Running HR

Perfect! Solved the problem for me. Thank you!
  • Can someone explain what is implemented and what isn't for Workouts in this beta with Garmin Connect Web, Garmin Connect Mobile for Android?

So far I've (everything here is from memory so I may have made some errors...):
    - done an ad hoc strength activity with the watch, just pressing the lap button to change from working to rest
    - created/edited strength and cardio workouts on GC Mobile
    - created/edited strength workout on GC Web
    - pressed the button to 'Send to Device' on GC Mobile (it seemed to complete this without reporting errors)
    - pressed the button to 'Send to Device' on GC Web (it complained since my watch was not connected to the laptop via Garmin Express)
    - reviewed a completed strength workout activity on GC Web that was synced from the watch (neat to see it guess what exercises I was doing, even though it was completely wrong)

    So far I can't:
    - Select a synced Strength/Cardio workout from within a Strength/Cardio activity via the Training | My Workouts menu item. (It tells me to download Workouts from GC)

Is that the correct current implemented situation for these Workouts?
