5.84 Change Log Notes:
  • Improved the connection reliability of ANT sensors during activities.
*Strength workouts are still not available via Garmin Connect. Only the capability to accept these workouts has been added. This feature will be available in the very near future

  • Confirmed bugs:

    - Its created HR Zones for each sports, that cannot be deleted, or they go away when sync (Wifi and PC ? cannot confirm Bluetooth)
    - Control Menu Items (Holding the light Buttom) goes away after each sync (same as above, Wifi and PC ? cannot confirm Bluetooth)
    - Everytime I sync (Wifi confirmed, not tested on PC, bluetooth is not bugged), the weight from my Garmin Index on Connect is replaced with the one on my Fenix
    - Sress Widget resets its history when watch resets
  • The first 2 are GC bugs impacting people on older firmwares as well.

Exactly, and that's even worse, because they completely destroy the user experience. You go on a workout and them figure in the mid of the workout that you are doing it wrong because your watch got HR Zones from Hell (Yeah, they are not on GC, so I don't know where they came from).
  • But does anyone have any experience about whether or not it fixes the ANT issues? Surely this is the most anticipated update so far for fenix 5! I will report back as soon as I can but currently have the flu...
  • I always bring my watch USB cable to work on Fridays (New Zealand Time) because I expect to see a beta release but this week I didn't since we had the release earlier this week. So of course there's a release today lol. I'll just have to be patient and wait till tonight when I'm at home.

I haven't had issues with the HR Zones nor the Control menu. They're working as expected for me. For the HR zones I use Lactate Threshold to determine the zones so perhaps that's why I haven't had problems.

Actually based on my experience these bugs are gone now - have re-populated my Controls menu and it stayed put since yesterday, same for the zones that didn't re-appear (yet).

Try doing a Wifi sync and let me know if your Zones didn't re-appeared/Controls gone.
  • I do not have a Wifi enabled model. All good with BT syncs. Previously I had the issue with BT, too.

    As I said:

At least for me, Bluetooth never were affected by these bugs. You can try on PC.
  • ANT fix doesn't work for me. See graph. Run Fenix 5 WIFI with scosche rhythm+ heart rate sensor. First half-run on right arm (opposite to watch) second half-run on left arm (same as watch).
    Disappointing result :(ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1251777.jpg
