Feature request: not on wrist detection to stop vibration

Hi,

I have my smart notifications on on my Fenix 5s. I like those a lot and also like that it vibrates if there is a new notification.

The thing I don't like is when I have my watch (which is rarely) laying on my night stand or when I'm charging the watch that it just keeps on vibrating with every notification.
Since there is an always on heart rate monitor on the the device it must be doable to detect wetter the user is wearing the watch or not and then stop the vibrations.

Could you please implement this feature!

Well, thank you for dismissing the concerns of everyone here and for invoking the holiday season to cast shade on any opinion disagreeing with your own.

No, typing this post (and the others here) most certainly did not take anywhere near the time I'd spend enabling and disabling Do Not Disturb over the life of owning a Garmin watch, not to mention the time wasted and lost opportunities due to missed notifications when I'd inevitably forget to turn it back off. And I'm just one person. Imagine the cumulative loss of millions of Garmin customers doing the same.

Honestly, though, that shouldn't really matter. This is a basic question of user experience, and the current user experience of simply charging a Garmin watch suffers greatly for the lack of this feature. If Garmin has the resources to design snazzy new UI animations for their latest watch, they clearly have enough engineering and design staff to implement this.

This totally makes sense. Can't believe this was suggested 2 years ago. Does Garmin have anyone employed who reads these forums?

This is a user to user forum. Garmin employees do occasionally respond to threads, but it is not the official channel for reporting issues or making suggestions. Please see mcbadger's response above.
