Hi to all
I have an APAC version of the fenix 5x.
I have an issue to upload GPX files on the watch, I tried different ways, through garming connect or copy / paste on "new files" folder of the watch, I can not retrieve those routes on the watch.
do I do something wrong ?

thank you

    I?ve a similar problem.

I can send GPX files to my Garmin Fenix 5X, however When i send two or more gpx files the watch only it show one...... It?s strange because in the past i was able to import as many as i want.

    Anyone have this issue?
  • Sorry all for my late reply, at today I still can not upload a gpx file, I had exchange of emails with Garmin support team, tried few things as well using basecamp and dxg but nothing working.
Last reply from Garmin support team was as below, I do not want to split the route as there are race I will run (by the way, the battery can handle a 35 hours race ?)

    Hello Stephane,

In addition to memory limitations, the Fenix 5x has file limitations. Files that exceed these limitations cannot be read by the watch. It appears the track you are sending a track that has over 13,000 points. The maximum number of points that can be read by the Fenix 5x is 10,000. (That is per track, not a total for all your tracks combined.)

To resolve the issue you can split the track into two parts and send both over to the device. (You can do this by in Basecamp by clicking Tools and select Divide.) Or you will need to delete edit the track down to 10,000 points.

If you have any other questions, suggestions, or concerns, please contact us again.

    Thank you for choosing Garmin,

Not sure where your problem is. I downloaded your 2nd file and opened it with Basecamp and then transferred it to my Fenix 5x no problem. I am looking at it now on my watch and it looks to be in the hills of Indonesia. Yes it has 13500 points so it's a little slow to load on the watch but it works fine.

I've had same issues with fit files that had the exact same starttime and version no. Even though they didn't have the same GPS points, the second one over write the first one. Do they have the same start time in file?

Indeed strange, I do transfer the file to the watch, slow to load too. but nothing into navigate section, is there any particular folder in the watch we can see the course is saved ?

  • Yes, you have a folder named courses under garmin.
